Saturday 20th November 2021  brought together over 45 young people, teachers, community workers, practitioners and organisations to celebrate and support International Men’s Day. The event was chaired by Mike Crowther Empowerment CEO and include workshops delivered by Blackpool Transport, Kip Education and Nathan Parker. Further activities included an inspirational life story from Joseph Johnson, Jobs Friends and Houses,  as well poetry from Nathan Parker, a pledge video from The Fylde Community and outstanding art contributions from St Bede’s Catholic High School, South Shore Academy, Baines School, Highfield Leadership Academy and Blackpool Sixth Form. Mike Crowther shared the amazing men’s project Eliot’s place and explained how vital this service was to support young Men on the Fylde Coast. The event main take away message was that we need more situations of kindness and for mental health stigma to change we need to change the systems. Watch out for IMD 2022!
